Your Everyday Scandal

Let me start off by reciting the following quote: "My existence is a scandal." ~Oscar Wilde.

What does that quote mean to you? Can you relate? Are you offended? What's your thoughts??

...
... Thinking time... ^_^ lala lala lala
...

I took notes when I thought about the quote and here's uh... my "interesting" first reaction.
~"Holy bones, that saying is now my motto!" O_O (Obviously I enjoyed the quote.)

Okay, let's cut the crap. I thought I would share the quote by Oscar Wilde with you because that's exactly how I feel on a day-to-day basis and would love to share that annoying, but downright thrilling experience with you.

You see, when your family is tearing apart at the seams, you can't fit in at school, and a shadowed past lingers in your memories- something's got to give. And let me tell you- it let lose like a Tasmanian devil. I fell into a new social status, shifted into a Gothic style, shared my hushed fiery views (uh, like right here..?) and refused to bow to any social standard. And while all of that occurred, my heart was torn again and again, my mind toyed with like prey, and depressing thoughts caged my desperate happiness. Scandalous? You tell me.

But what I want to know now, is how they're scandalous. Do they fall into the 7 deadly sins? Are they unlawful? I don't think so, do you? So really... what is a scandal?

I want to know what you find to be a "scandal" and how you justify it!

See you on the flip side!

Crazy girl say wha'?

Answer me this: Who are you? No, I don't have Alzheimer's... just answer the question. Who are you? I'll give you some time to think about that... don't just scroll down- THINK. -_-

...
...
...

Finished thinking? Probably not. Because if you actually thought about your answer, you would have realised- the more you thought about it- that you know nothing. Your answer depends entirely of what other people think of you, isn't it? For example, are you smart? I'm guessing you're thinking back on how you performed in school- what grades you got. Grades that were given by other people. You see? Your own personal thoughts about yourself, your free mind, is controlled daily. I'm not trying to twist in propaganda, but seriously consider what I just said: Everything you know about your own personal being, is information from someone else.

... Now how can you change that? Don't think back on previous comments about you. Don't base every little aspect of your life on what someone else thinks. You want to wear those sneakers that according to your best friend- make you look 12 years old but you think they're comfortable? Wear them. Simple as that.

So consider this post the next time you get self-conscious about anything you do- because guess what? Being self-conscious is an illusion. You feel that way because you're afraid of what other people think- it's not a part of you. Therefore, why feel it?

Tell me your thoughts- I love to hear them all... good or bad.

"Be yourself, by yourself- away from me."

Greetings to all who take time to read my ramblings, I honor your courage. ^_^ I know I haven't posted in what seems like forever- so I'd like by bringing you up to date.

The following events have occured lately:

*Got a boyfriend... amazing. >_<
*Registered for High School
*Found myself
*Recently gave a graduation speech... =^_^=

Well, that's basically what's happened since I last wrote... if you want to know all of my thoughts in between my last post and now, go to my Twitter at: http://twitter.com/i_heart_wicca

Anyways- the topic for today is: confidence. Yes, a very serious yet random topic, but it's my blog so shush it! >_<

To begin, I'd like to give two definitions. One comes from WebsterWebster: The state of being certain. If one were to follow this definition literally, they would surely believe that they have to know all the answers in life to be ''certain''. But as the human interpretation shows- that's not the context we use. Society takes the word confidence and transforms it into several acts. You knowthe current one? Swag. Like Swagger. Quite similar actually, for "swag" is referred to as "to conduct oneself in an arrogant manner or walk with overbearing self-confidence". Now today, we use "confidence" and "swagger" in the same context because we believe they are similar. If they are so similar, then it's apparent that "confidence" is the state of arrogance as well as being certain? So tell me, are you confident? Do you have your own swag? That's obviously debatable.

If you have any thoughts on today's topic... let me know! I'd love to hear from you! ^_^
